WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT OUR HOME
This light-filled apartment with many upgrades is actually on the sixth floor of a well- managed and well-maintained 1927 building with two elevators. Located three blocks from lakefront parks, paths and beaches, it has sweeping lake and city views. We enjoy cool lake breezes, lake and garden views, and fireworks displays from Evanston to Navy Pier. Desirably located on the lakeside of downtown, the apartment faces east and south and is very quiet (no street noise). There are only three units on our floor. Public transportation (Metra, El and busses), shopping, dozens of restaurants, post office, and libraries are within a one-to-ten minute walk. I bike (3 minutes) or walk (10 minutes) to my office at Northwestern University, which offers a wide variety of public lectures, as well as performing and visual arts opportunities. The Homeowners Association (22 owners) holds high reserves. The building’s elevated garden (picnic area with grill, flowers, herbs), dedicated storage space, bike room and the prettiest entrance and lobby in Evanston are added features. The only reason we’re selling is because of retirement.
